Just found out we're cousins. Pierre Beaudoin and Julie Chouinard - my 3rd great-grandparents - are in your lineage. Looking forward to taking advantage of your excellent site to fill out my knowledge of the families.

My husband's mother is a LaChance. I know that a French fur trader came to Vancouver, WA and married an Indian woman. His grandfather's name was Edwin LaChance born on 8/21/1889 in Grand Ronde, Oregon and died in 1958. His father was Thomas Lachance born 5/9/1867 in St. Paul, Oregon and died 10/17/1959 in Grand Ronde, Oregon. His mother was CarolinE Pinchet born 2/15/1869 St. Paul, Oregon dies 10/14/1941 Grand Ronde, Oregon. We have just started looking into the family tree. I know my husband always talks about a Pierre LaChance.

Hope to here from you.

I have Philip H. Smith's General History of Duchess County. First issue. Haven't seen the one his son published about 1878 or '79. Thought I would check the internet since I thought I'd heard it may be on the internet. My principal families are VAN WYCK, SWARTWOUT AND REMSEN, along with the families who married into my families. The BRINCKERHOFFS are all over in the family. Have come across may "cousins". Lots of fun. Love the history.
