Wow! Your site is most impressive. I am looking for info re: my father's side of the family Vermette. His father Frederic was born near Napier(ville) near Montreal. It is believed that we are decendants of the Menard Vermet union (most are I am guessing). Any help would be great. Again, this is a great site that must be a labor of love.

ARCHIVED MESSAGE - Hood Swamp Page has been removed.
Thanks for the info. Prior to their deaths my wife and I traveled near/through Goldsboro to see her parents in New Bern NC (from Charlotte). I have seen the Hood Swamp sign along some road whose name I don't recall. Nice to see some history on the area - I always wondered a little about Hood Swamp - and I am impressed on the amount of effort that went into this site..

I was searching for web-based genealogy software and a relative of mine (who is in your database) suggested your I take a look at your site.

Hands down your site is the best I've ever seen. It's warm and friendly, not cold and clinical like a lot of genealogy sites tend to be. You've included a lot of your wonderful personality and I think that makes all the difference.

So I'll go check out the The Next Generation Genealogy site and see what's possible.

Alexandre Lachance (b. 1871, #113 in database) is my great-grandfather. His daughter, Eva, was my grandmother. I have always wanted to learn more about her family tree, and now I can. Thank you for the time you have put into all the research. I hope to meet many new cousins. Thanks!

Thank you for all your hard work. You have a great site. I recently found your site while searching for my father's information. We have never known any of his family. My dad's name was Alphonse or Arthur Joseph LaChance from the Biddeford, ME area. We grew up in Gardiner, ME. I am hoping to reach some of his family relatives. Thanks again for all your efforts.
