Year one thousand eight hundred, July 18, by us, the undersigned priest, was baptized Marie Henriette born yesterday evening of (Marie Genevieve) [note: Marie-Genevieve is stricken from the record] Chamard (and of) [note: and of is stricken from the record] father " unknown. The godfather was Mr. Joseph Chamard and the godmother Marie Josephte Dancosse, wife of François Ouellet father. The godfather only signed with us as required following the order and the godmother declared not know.

These are the comments of Claude-Robin Pelletier of Rimouski, Quebec. He has been researching the Gendron family for many years.
It is very surprising that the name of Marie-Geneviève Chamard was written in the register and CHAMARD has not been scratched. This information suggesting that Marie-Genevieve CHAMARD gave birth to Marie-Henriette. Is that the priest had written a real fact? I think so! How a woman giving birth to a child could lie to a priest without a mortal sin? I think that if we have Indian genes ... the answer is there. If Marie-Geneviève is the biological mother of Marie Henriette, it is possible that the biological father was an Amerindian ( Malécites or Micmacs or ... The DNA could possibly be an answer ....
