Thanks for the info. Prior to their deaths my wife & I traveled near/through Goldsboro to see her parents in New Bern NC (from Charlotte). I have seen the Hood Swamp sign along some road whose name I don't recall. Nice to see some history on the area - I always "wondered a little" about Hood Swamp - and I am impressed on the amount of effort that went into this site..

I was searching for web-based genealogy software and a relative of mine (who is in your database) suggested your I take a look at your site.

Hands down your site is the best I've ever seen. It's warm and friendly, not cold and clinical like a lot of genealogy sites tend to be. You've included a lot of your wonderful personality and I think that makes all the difference.

So I'll go check out the The Next Generation Genealogy site and see what's possible.

I had a good laugh reading your entry about "you know you have Native American ancestry if your second toe is longer than the first..." Of course I had to look right away, and I found that my second toe is longer than the first, but like you, I haven't come across any direct lineage as of yet confirming it as fact. I wouldn't be surprised if we do, however.

Our mum Jeanne Champagne Lachance is deceased, so is our father Henri Lachance. What a shame we didn't think of asking whilst they were with us. You have done that for us. Thank you so much.
