I had a good laugh reading your entry about "you know you have Native American ancestry if your second toe is longer than the first..." Of course I had to look right away, and I found that my second toe is longer than the first, but like you, I haven't come across any direct lineage as of yet confirming it as fact. I wouldn't be surprised if we do, however.

Our mum Jeanne Champagne Lachance is deceased, so is our father Henri Lachance. What a shame we didn't think of asking whilst they were with us. You have done that for us. Thank you so much. INTERESTING STUFF! Might just be related and I had very good friends in Grade School with the last name Lachance!
My great-grandfather James Bussell (5 times back) was the first white settler in Bangor, Maine (you can find that info on the Bangor History website). Many of our family are still in Maine. My grandfather's name was Myron and we started having yearly reunions two years ago.
My mom's family is from the midwest (also from England through Virginia) and named Clark. That family also has rumors of Indian blood and my grandfather certainly looked it.
Family history is so interesting to me.
