The wedding "match" took place in front of a thrilled crowd of participants, spectators, family and guests. Some of those in attendance are scrolling to the left. The venue for this perfect evening was the Willamette Valley Vineyards (click on the name to visit their website) home of some of the finest wines in Oregon. I will admit that their Pinot Noir (Reserve) is extremely good. Once the ceremony was under way, some ooohs and ahhh's could be heard as the crowd looked on. Towards the end of the I Do's and the rings several in the loving audience could be heard crying while shedding tears of joy. |

The Setting at Willamette Valley Vineyard |
 |
There could not have been a more picturesque setting than that in which this wedding took place. The day began simply enough with the wedding party arriving early for all of the photos to be taken. The guests began arriving shortly after 6 PM (some earlier, including my mom, Ron and Mickey Mantia, and me) in order to "take advantage" of the wine tasting at the vineyard. It was "most excellent".
Shortly before 7PM we were seated and the ceremony commenced. David was the first to be escorted by Sally Anderson (the officiant), down to the altar. Next, Paul (the father of the bride) led Sandra down the aisle (everyone seated was all smiles). Vows were repeated, words were spoken, rings were exchanged, and then there was the kiss. And, in an instant, little Sandra Michelle was all grown up, an adult, married and on her way to find the rest of her life together with David.
From here the reception began at the vineyard, also most pleasant, with dancing and the everpresent bottles of wine direct from Willamette. Sandra and David left gifts for everyone at their tables; a box filled with kisses marking the day of the wedding. The light snack style buffet was more than enough excellent food to fill up everybody in attendance. |

Let Them Eat Cake...and drink wine |
Wines from Willamette Vineyard - Served at the reception |

Lest we forget, there was cake (pictured left). I heard, but am not certain, that it was actually three different cakes built as one. At least one of the three was "black forest" cake. Unfortunately for me, I didn't try it but I'm sure it was good. |

Two wines were served during the reception. The Reisling which was excellent and the Pinot Noir was tasty as well.
This vineyard does have good wine! However, this is MY website so if I want to "rant" I can. That said, the wine at Willamette Valley Vineyard may be very good, BUT, the employee serving in the tasting room needs to go back to school to learn how to make customers "raving fans". Any thought of purchase was put aside after dealing with this "animal resembling a small horse". |

Pictured at right are Micky Mantia, Sandra and Ron Mantia, Godparents of the bride. Many of the photos that appear on the next page including the movie of the "Father Daughter Dance" are courtesy of Ron and his camera. Thanks to both Ron and Micky for being there...and being great!
